Ride for a Cause: Sky Dog Rescue Fundraiser
We’re partnering with Sky Dog Mustang Rescue, to help raise funds for their equine program!
Our October 15th Fall Fling (which may include a half-day on October 14th if entries warrant) will contribute 10% of ride fees to support the program. You can also donate directly using the donation box we’ll have on site. Or, purchase one of their super-cute tee-shirts and wear it in support of the program.
(Our judge, Sabine Ense has approved the tee-shirts as show-worthy attire and is also supportive of riders and horses dressing up in bright colors and bling.)
You’ll get to meet one of the program’s mustangs in person and can help sponsor one of their deserving equine companions, to offset medical and feed bills. Horse lovers of all ages can sign up to become a Sky Dog volunteer.
Twinkle products will be on hand to help you add bling to your horse, with the donation of horse-safe glitter products.
You and your horse are encouraged to wear bright colors in support of the cause.
If you can volunteer at the show for two or more hours, please contact Lisa Bohard at firstname.lastname@example.org. Volunteers receive Absolute Horse gift certificates and the thanks of the chapter!
Thumbs Up for Adult Amateur Camp
This year’s Adult Amateur Camp was a rousing success, thanks to the organizational efforts of Lisa Koch. Lisa’s been organizing camp for 10 years now, bringing in top-notch instructors to ensure a valuable learning experience for all.
Nine COC members attended and the remaining three spots were filled by ODS members from Grants Pass and Klamath Falls. Auditors came to watch the rides and were impressed by the professionalism and expertise of instructors Morgan Barrows and Ernst Herrmann.
Many thanks to Lee Haverland of Shevlin Stables for hosting camp at her beautiful facility. A good time was had by all! Thank you, Lisa!
