Central Oregon Dressage Society

Tuesday Evening October 25th was the club's annual awards banquet. The
banquet was held at McMennamin's St. Francis in downtown Bend. Many
members braved the extreme cold to gather and celebrate our
accomplishments this past year. The evening started at 6pm with a
social hour where we all enjoyed sharing a drink with friends. Dinner
of lasagna and mushroom ravioli along with a tasty array of salads,
fruits and desserts was served at 7pm. Marsha Williams MC'd the
event and recounted accomplishments on the regional and national level
of the members from our local chapter. We have a lot to be proud of,
good job to all of you who were recognized! New board members were
elected and the 2012/13 slate of officers is President, Laura Swenson,
Vice President, Lisa Koch, Secretary Karen Turner, Treasurer Nancy
Weaver and Member at Large Michelle Anderson.
Ribbons and awards were given out and this year champions and reserve
champions received saddle pads or polo wraps with the club logo
embroidered on them, thanks to Riding in Style. They are very attractive and will surely be
admired when worn at future shows and clinics. Volunteer awards were
given to three members who shared the volunteer of the year
recognition. Those honored were Karen Turner, Monique Davis and Marsha
Williams. It was a difficult decision as many members stepped up to
help out this year. Volunteer of the year awards included polo wraps,
a saddle pad and gift certificates to Riding in Style. Out going
President Deborah Guelinas was thanked for her three years as
president with a saddle pad and good wishes on a card from club
members. Deb has decided to relocate to California where she will be
training with Mike Etherly. We wish her well! Keep in touch
Deb. Club members stayed on swapping stories of their year's worth of
riding and enjoying more drinks and desserts. It was really a nice
occasion and we hope to see all of you on the show circuit or at one
of the many club sponsored events in the coming year.
